The Trois Becs Brewery - France
This was my first ever attempt at a cut-out letter, luminous sign using E10 LEDs and cabochon bulbs. I learnt a lot and did many tests - trying to find out which sort of LED would give the closest light to that of a tungsten bulb, and which would throw out the best light shard pattern from the cabochon.
Manu at the Trois Becs brewery wanted it as decoration, and I decided to make it into a stand-alone solar sign. Power is stored in a 12v motorbike battery, charged by a solar panel in the window and regulated by a cheap controller from Ebay. The whole thing's still running fine now, two and a half years later. Thanks to Pia the magpie for technical help.
